We had a bit of a fracture catastrophe in February. Kate got her leg caught between the slats of her crib and was not using that leg. To make a VERY long story very short, we had it x-rayed that showed there was a fracture on the tibia. They put a splint on Kate that you can see in the pictures. It caused a large blister or "ulcer" on her heal the seemed to be much more painful than the fracture itself. After an Instacare visit and two ER visits, we learned that her tibia was never fractured and the first x-ray was wrong. Poor Kate had to endure a weeks worth of agony wearing a splint that caused even more damage, which made our lives as parents awful. Looking on the bright side of things, she fortunately never had to wear a cast and my pediatrician was great about helping out with some of our medical bills that resulted because of this mess.
